Work Begins On Shoal Creek Bridge

Repairs to the Shoal Creek Bridge on Route C in Livingston County began this week.  Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation closed the bridge on April 9 after a regularly scheduled inspection revealed critical deterioration to the structure. Flooding has caused some delay to the repair work, but that work began this week.  MoDOT crews will replace the old wood timber beams of the bridge with steel. The bridge is expected to remain closed through June.

The Shoal Creek Bridge was built in 1933 and prior to the closing it carried approximately 310 vehicles a day.
