Heavy rains overnight caused Chillicothe Police to close a portion of West Third Street. Chillicothe received 1.93 inches of rain since 4:00 pm on Monday. Flash flooding during the heaviest rain resulted in water over the roadway on Third Street near the old Prison. Additional rainfall is expected today and it could be heavy at times. Be aware of the possibility of flooding and water on the roadways. If you find roads are flooded, find a different route as you can not tell the condition of the road under the water or the depth of the water. A Flash Flood Watch continues through this evening.
