A good sized crowd was on hand Wednesday Night for the official proclamation naming the Kelly Poling Arts District on Locust Street.
Poling, who died in December 2018, was responsible for almost all the murals on commercial buildings in Chillicothe.
Poling’s wife, Angela, reflected on what her late husband would of thought of the festivities.
She said she likes to think Kelly knew the effect his talents had on the town, through his paintings.
Angela Poling said one of her late husband’s favorite times involved sharing his love of art with others, especially kids.
The event was held at the Cultural Corner Art Guild.
