Raises Part of New School Budget

The Chillicothe School Board approved next fiscal year’s budget at a special board meeting Thursday night.
Outgoing Superintendent Roger Barnes said it includes raises for the teachers.

The pay raises were approved after an extended discussion by the school board members.
Barnes says the raises will slightly strain an already tight deficit budget.

The newly approved budget will have a $587, 631 deficit. That leaves 13.12% reserves in the budget.
