Rotary To Donate To Soccer Field

A lot of ideas and discussion regarding Soccer filled Monday’s Chillicothe City Council meeting.
Rotary President Adam Warren was on the agenda with a plan to bring at least one more Youth Athletic field to Chillicothe to primarily be used for youth soccer.
Warren stated the Rotary Club had secured a grant from Rotary International for the field, which they proposed to be on a section of the old Prison Property on Third Street.
The one field would be the first step of a possible multi-fields long-term project. The Rotary grant would pay for the dirt and grass work for one field, which would be required by the grant to be called “Rotary Field.” It would not include lights or restrooms.
Greens Hills Soccer Club representatives were on hand in support of the project.
After a lengthy discussion on the exact location of the field on the 40 acres of property and numerous other concerns, the council agreed to move forward on the singular field at this time.
