City Waiting As Medical Marijuana Deadline Passes

The state’s deadline for applications for Medical Marijuana manufacturing, growing and testing ended on Monday.  City Administrator Darin Chappell says there is an interest in facilities in Chillicothe, but they still have to wait on the state.

The State of Missouri received more than 2,100 applications for Medical Marijuana facilities and collected more than $13 million in application fees.

The state plans to license 60 cultivation facilities, 192 dispensaries, 86 medical marijuana-infused manufacturing facilities and 10 testing laboratory facilities throughout the state.  Applications must be approved or denied for licensure by the state within 150 days of the application submission date.
