CHS Softball wins in Extra Innings

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets scored twice in the top of the ninth inning with two outs to edge Maryville on the road 5-3.
Chillicothe scored twice in top of the first, Maryville countered with three in the third but Chillicothe tied the game with one run in the top of the fifth inning.
Coach Mike Jones stated his team played good defense and put together a couple of timely hits to pull out the game. Jones said “We needed this victory.”
At the plate Abby Jones had a triple and a single. Sophia Luetticke had a double and two singles. Jordan Hibner and Brooke Horton both had two singles with Mika Hibner and Mollie Ellis each had one single. Luetticke had two stolen bases with Mollie Ellis and Jordan Hibner with one each.
Jones had three RBI and Horton with one.
Halle Rucker had the start and Kinlei Boley was the relief pitcher. They combined to allow three earned runs off six hits with seven strike outs and two walks.
