Hornets edge Lafayette, now 5-1

A bad extra point snap by Lafayette was the difference in a Chillicothe Hornets 14-13 conference win over St Joseph Lafayette.
Chillicothe scored first on a Jaden Winder 1 yard run early in the Second quarter to lead 7-0.
Lafayette countered with an 11 yard quarterback run, the kick was good to tie the score.
Later in the second quarter, Dawson Wheeler scored on a 3 yard run. The drive was continued when Lafayette muffed a punt return attempt which was recovered by the Hornets.
Late in the Third Quarter, Lafayette intercepted a pass in the end zone and returned it to the 2 yard line. Lafayette drove 98 yard in 10 plays to score a 7 yard touchdown.
On the extra point attempt, the Lafayette deep snapper had a bad snap, with the ball rolling back to the holder. Lafayette fell on the ball and could not attempt an extra point for the 14-13 Hornets win
Unofficially Chillicothe had 52 carries for 261 yards rushing and was 2 for 4 for 56 yards passing. Lafayette was held to 20 carries for 152 yards rushing and 11 of 27 for 112 yards passing. Chillicothe is now 5-1 on the season.
They travel to Savannah next Friday.
