CHS Girls 2nd, Boys 6th at MEC XC meet

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Cross Country team finished 2nd and the boys finished 6th in the Midland Empire Conference race.
St Pius won the girls MEC title with a score of 27. They had the first place individual and three of the top four places.
Sophomore Gretchen Rock won the event by 15 seconds with a time of 21:56.
Chillicothe was led by Aliyah Briner in 5th place and Juliann Gabrielson less than a second behind her in 6th place.
Clairissa Nivens was 11th, Emma Burk was 20th, Kadence Shipers was 22nd, Callaway Chapman was 26th and Kaylynn Cranmer was 29th.
Maryville won the boys team title with a score of 28 and had the individual champion with a time of 18:16, winning by 38 seconds. Chillicothe Boys were 6th with a score of 143. Hornet Junior Hayden Simmer led Chillicothe with a 12th place finish, Clayton Savage was 37th, Stephen Parkes was 39th, Logan Gregory 40th and Nathan Toole 44th place overall.
In the JV race Kathryn George was 5th, Mayanna Weed 11th and Kiera Bosley 12th. For the Boys Kade Simmer was 12th place.
