Kansas City Man Arrested After Eluding Deputies

Poor choices this past weekend led to a Kansas City man in Custody.

Last Saturday afternoon, Livingston County Deputy Leadbetter witnessed a motorcycle driven in a careless manner and the driver was without a helmet.  The incident was in the area of Polk and Miller Streets in Chillicothe.  The report indicates the motorcyclist nearly struck the deputy’s patrol vehicle head-on.

The suspect refused to stop and was driving extremely dangerous. The deputy ceased any further attempt to stop the motorcycle due to the overall circumstances and risks.

As a result of the continued investigation, deputies arrested 20-year-old Chandler Paul Griffith of Kansas City for alleged Resisting Arrest by Flight, Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle and several other traffic offense allegations.

Griffith was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail and was since charged in Livingston County Associate Court with alleged Resisting Arrest by Fleeing-Creating a Substantial Risk of Death or Serious Injury to Any Person. Griffith remains incarcerated at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail in lieu of bond.
