Livingston County Sheriff’s Report: Arrests & Investigations

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department reports several investigations and arrests since late December.

December 29th, a traffic stop resulted in the seizure of suspected drug paraphernalia and distribution equipment with drug residue and cash. A report was sent to the prosecutor for consideration of charges.

December 29th, A property damage investigation was completed.  The damage was in a cemetery in the southwest part of the county and happened during a funeral,  Ruts were unintentionally made and some of those involved have since worked at repairing the damage.

January 2nd, a domestic disturbance was investigated in Wheeling. During the investigation, one adult wanted to turn over a quantity of marijuana and various items of drug paraphernalia and a handgun that were not related to the disturbance. Both adults claimed ownership. No arrest was made on the complaint of a domestic disturbance.

January 3rd, deputies recovered a chainsaw that was found in Wheeling.

January 7th, deputies began investigating a domestic assault case that took place in Utica.  A report was submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charges.

Cox says recently the department investigated a case of a felon and meth user in possession of firearms. Multiple firearms were seized as a result of the investigation. A report will be submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration.

Arrests:
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department reported a few arrests since the tail end of December.

December 29th, a vehicle stopped resulted in the officer noticing the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. This led to the seizure of drug distribution equipment, drug paraphernalia and cash.  The deputy arrested 18-year-old Journey M. Kendall of Meadville for the alleged Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Kendall was processed and released pending a Court appearance.

December 31st, an investigation resulted in the arrest of 50-year-old Robert James Alberts of Chillicothe for alleged Driving While Suspended.  Alberts was processed and released on a summons.

January 5th a vehicle stop on US 65 near Highway JJ resulted in the arrest of 34-year-old Brett Michael Keith of Chillicothe for alleged Driving While Revoked-Suspended.  Keith was processed and released.
