Waterfowl Workshops Set For Northwest Missouri

The MDC is offering Water Fowl Workshops for hunters this month.

MDC Resource Scientist Doreen Mengel says waterfowl hunters are invited to the public workshops where MDC staff will gather hunter input about duck season dates and zone boundary locations for the 2021-2025 hunting seasons. Two workshops are upcoming at St. Joseph on February 18th and Chillicothe on February 19th. The workshops are free and no reservation is necessary.

Mengel talked about the topics they will cover.

She says hunter input at workshops and hunter opinion surveys will be used to help establish Missouri’s future duck season dates and zones. Participants can review long-term data about weather, migration, habitat use, and harvest.

The waterfowl season workshops are from 7 to 9 pm at the MDC Northwest Regional Office in St. Joseph; and in Chillicothe at the Comfort Inn and Suites.
