Livingston Co. Sheriff – Incidents and Most Wanted

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department report for early February includes a few incidents and Most Wanted arrests.

January 29th a deputy responded to a call in the area of LIV 251 and LIV 214, where a vehicle was left abandoned and reportedly a problem for traffic. The deputy found no one around, the vehicle registered out of Fayette MO, and with no other information available requested the vehicle be towed because of how it was left in the roadway.  Later a woman claiming to own the vehicle called and Sheriff Steve Cox says she was out of line and cussing the deputy for doing his job.

February 1st, about 2:28 p.m. Deputies investigated a single-vehicle accident on Highway C south of US 36. The driver was identified as 20-year-old Samuel J. Lawson of Chillicothe and reported to have been speeding and ran off the roadway, hitting a highway sign and damaged a fence.  Lawson was cited for alleged Careless and Imprudent Driving.

February 2nd, an investigation of a possible stolen cow was investigated in the northwest part of Livingston County. A cow had been butchered in a remote area and the ear tags were cut off. Investigation continues.

February 3rd, Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer Mike Lewis filed a report regarding a teacher physically assaulted by a student at a local public school. School officials, parents and others are aware and involved in the situation. Information was shared with the court.

 

Most Wanted Updates:

February 1st, Ohio authorities arrested 43-year-old Gregory Allen Johnson of Tennessee on a Livingston County warrant for alleged Probation Violation for DWI-Persistent Offender. Johnson has been wanted since August 21st, 2019,  he will be extradited.

February 3rd, deputies arrested 44-year-old David Mathew Jeffers of Braymer on Livingston County warrant for alleged Non-Support. Jeffers had surrendered, posted bond and was given a court date.

February 5th, Kansas City authorities arrested 47-year-old Chaunci Lovett Sharpe of Kansas City, on Livingston County warrant for alleged Forgery.  Sharpe will be extradited at first opportunity.
