IRS Says Beware Of Scammers

Identity theft and scams…  People are trying to get your personal information, or they may already have it.  Micheal Devine from the IRS says for some people, they may not find out they are a victim until they file their taxes.  He says filing as soon as possible and filing electronically will help.

Devine says the scammers may also try to contact you at this time of year because it is tax time.

If you find someone has filed a return in your name, contact the IRS and begin the process to get your information secured and protected.  The number to call is 800-829-1040, that’s 800 TAX 1040.  You can also go to the IRS website at IRS.GOV
