Lady Hornets Head To Title Game

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets overcame Carrollton’s game strategy to pick up a 47-31 District Semi-Final win and heads to Saturday’s championship game.
Carrollton attempted to slow down the game by using a deliberate, time consuming offense to keep the basketball out of Chillicothe’s hands.
Chillicothe Coach Darren Smith stated the attempt didn’t work, thanks to his hot-shooting team.

Chillicothe unofficially shot 6 of 6 from two point range in the first half. Chillicothe scored the first three baskets in the game and led the rest of the contest.
Essie Hicks finished with 15 points including 7 of 9 two-point shots. Jordan Hibner and Brooke Horton each had 12 points, Hunter Keithley had six and Jessica Reeter had two. Seeing playing time were Haley Kidd, Selby Miller and Lucy Reeter.
Carrollton was led by 10 points from MaKenzie Brown. The win puts Chillicothe in the district championship game for the fifth time in six years.

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets will face a familiar foe in the District title game on Saturday. The Trenton Lady Bulldogs overcame a slow start to beat Brookfield 42-32 and return to the District Championship game again this year.
Trenton was led by Maci Moore with 21 points and MaKayla Blackburn with 10 points.
Brookfield was led by Rylee Sensenich with 11 and Kalie Stufflebean with 10 points.
The District Girls Championship game will be Saturday at 5:00pm and can be heard on KCHI Radio.
