COVID-19 And The Community / What You Can Do

The Livingston County Health Department met this morning with first responders and other community officials to discuss the COVID-19 (CoronaVirus) Health issues and what we as a community can do.  Health Department Director Sherry Weldon says currently there are no positive cases in Livingston County.  Weldon says they are asking people to follow the governor’s guidelines for the disease.

They are also recommending social distancing.

She says a limited amount of testing is available, and they have criteria for who should be tested.

If you have questions about the COVID-19 virus, or what you should be doing, call the Missouri Public Health line toll free at 877-435-8411.

So What Can You Do?!

Many ask what can they do to prevent the spread of COVID-19?  Sherry Weldon from the Livingston County Health Center says they have a list of recommendations.

They are also recommending a good separation from others.  Six feet is a good distance, about an arms reach from the other person.

She says if health officials suggest you self-quarantine, or you are concerned you may have been exposed than don’t be around others.

Again, call your health care provider, don’t just show up at the hospital.
