Grand River Bridge Redecking Begins Monday

The Grand River Bridge south of Chillicothe on US Highway 65 will be reduced to a single lane beginning Monday.  The crews have been working on the access road at the north end of the bridge.  They are now ready to begin the next phase, which will include the redecking process.

During the project, there will be only one lane of traffic over the bridge, with an 11.5-foot width restriction. Temporary traffic signals will be used to guide motorists through the work zone. Drivers may expect delays.

When the contractor is ready to pour concrete, the bridge will be closed, allowing the contractor to connect the new bridge deck with the roadway.  The exact dates of the closures are not known at this time, but they expect they will occur in mid-June and mid to late October. During those closures, traffic will be directed over a signed detour route on Routes Z, C and US 36.
