Three Fail Alcohol Compliance Checks

The Midland Empire Alcohol Task Force conducted compliance checks of the area alcohol sales locations.  The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the checks.  A minor person was used to assist in the compliance checks and showed valid identification if requested to confirm the person was under 21 years of age.  The checks resulted in 3 locations where alcoholic beverages were sold to the minor.  They are in the 100 block of Washington Street, 600 block of Jackson Street and 1200 block of Washington Street and 3 individuals were cited for the alleged supply of intoxicants to minor and given a court date.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and Task Force have done this every year for several years in an attempt to determine if intentional or accident supplies of alcoholic beverages to minors are taking place.  They report most often they find the minor is actually carded and the individual still sells the alcoholic beverage.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and the Task Force follow up with training offered for area businesses and their employees.
