Looking Back at Labor Day

As we celebrate the Labor Day Holiday, it is important to remember the origins of the day.  Labor Day, celebrated on the first Monday in September is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers.  Livingston County Library Director Candy Warren says this year’s celebration will look different for many of us.  The first Labor Day holiday was celebrated in 1882 in New York City and was planned by the Central Labor Union.

The Livingston County Library is closed today but will re-open on Tuesday for normal hours.
