CHS Softball Shuts Out Lafayette

Chillicothe Lady Hornets Softball pitcher Halle Rucker threw a complete game shut out in an 8-0 home win over St Joseph Lafayette. Rucker allowed 3 hits with five strike outs and two walks. None of the Lafayette players made it past second base.
On offense, Chillicothe scored four in the first, one in the second and three in the fourth inning.  Mika Hibner had a double and two singles, Kirsten Dunn had three singles, Sophia Luetticke and Kinlei Boley both had two singles while Hope Helton, Mollie Ellis and Halle Rucker each had a single.
The win was the ninth in a row for Chillicothe Lady Hornets Softball, and are now 4-0 in MEC play.
Coach Lee Rucker said that, once again, his team was able to score runs early, which puts pressure on the opponent, and allows the Lady Hornets to settle in on defense and not press too hard in an effort to be perfect.
The JV Lady Hornets beat Lafayette 5-0 with Hadley Beemer with a double and single, Adra Stretch with 2 singles, Katelyn Fleener with an RBI double and two run home run and Jolie Bonderer a single.
