Chillicothe Police Report

The Chillicothe Police Department reports several arrests and investigations for Wednesday.

10:44 am, Officers serving a Livingston County warrant on a 32-year-old resident in the 3000 block of Blackhawk Drive.  The warrant was for DWI; Persistent Offender.

11:41 am, Officer out in Simpson Park.  Young child locked in a vehicle.  The vehicle was unlocked and issue resolved.

1:37 pm, Officers out at home in the 600 block of Sunset Avenue on a report that dogs were constantly barking and disturbing the neighborhood.  Owners notified the resident and advised them of an ordinance violation.

2:46 pm, Officers served a Livingston County arrest warrant on a 38-year-old Chillicothe resident in the 1000 block of Graves Street.

2:59 pm, Officer speaking with an individual reporting they had been scammed out of a substantial amount of money over the phone.  People are reminded to especially use caution when contacted on the phone and requiring you to provide money or gift cards in return for some type of service.

3:35 pm, Officers responded to the 1100 block of Oak Street for a two-vehicle accident involving a school bus.  No injuries were reported and only minor damage was done to both vehicles.

7:27 pm, Officer arrested a 40-year-old Chillicothe resident after stopping the vehicle they were driving due to a traffic violation.  They found the driver had a suspended driver’s license.  The subject was processed, cited, and released.

8:13 pm, Officers responded to the 600 block of Webster Street on a report of someone brandishing a handgun inside an establishment, threatening another person and then leaving.  A 29-year-old Chillicothe resident was subsequently taken into custody for the assault, processed, and transported to Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail on a 24-hour hold.

11:27 pm, officers were at the Sheriff’s Office to assist the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department with a prisoner.

Calls for service on Tuesday included:

At about 3:15 am, Officer checked on a vehicle in Simpson Park.  The occupants were advised to move on, the Park was closed and camping is not allowed.

5:12 pm, an Officer was out in the 300 block of Calhoun Street picking up some discarded drug paraphernalia.  The items were taken to P.D. to be destroyed.

10:30 pm, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1600 block of Polk Street.   As a result, a 43-year-old Chillicothe resident was arrested, processed, and later taken to the Daviess DeKalb County Jail.
