Freeze Warning For Northwest Missouri

A Freeze warning is issued for all of northwest Missouri beginning at 11:00 tonight.  The freeze warning is until 10:00 am Saturday.  The National Weather Service says we can expect sub-freezing temperatures as low as 25 degrees expected with temperatures between 28 and 32 degrees east of the I-35 corridor.

Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

They recommend you take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
