Livingston County Burn Ban Lifted For 2 Days

The Burn Ban in Livingston County is lifted for two days.  Livingston County Emergency Services Director Darrell Wright says the nearly 2 inches of rain today will help revive the grasses and reduce the chances of fires spreading.  Because of the extreme drought conditions and lack of continued rain chances, the burn ban returns Saturday at 9:00 am.

If the conditions change they will provide further updates

Homeowners and property owners that are burning should still use caution when doing any outdoor burning.

Burn Bans for the neighboring counties remain in place.

  • U should check more areas of county for rainfall totals. 7 miles northwest received only 1/2 inch

    • We use the amounts from the National Weather Service at the Litton Ag Center, but yes, those certainly aren’t universal amounts that everyone had. We definitely welcome people to reach out and let us know how much rainfall they got in a certain area, and we will do our best to report those amounts as well. Thanks!
