Firefighters Respond To Stove Fire
Chillicothe Firefighters responded to a call for a fire on a stove Sunday at about 6:00 pm. The call was to 1517 Hickory Street and the fire crew arrived in 5 minutes to find no fire and no smoke. The teen, who was the only one home at the time, stated they had turned on the electric stove and a flame was shooting out of the burner. The stove was checked for hot spots with a thermal-imaging camera, but nothing was found. They turned off the electricity to the stove and advised to the teen to have the parents check the stove before turning it on again. The fire crew was on the scene for four minutes.
Chillicothe firefighters also responded to an alarm at Hedrick Medical Center Saturday. The call was a false alarm and they returned to service.
