Steam Plant Abatement Approved By Board of Public Works
The abatement of Asbestos and other hazardous materials at the old CMU Steam Plan received approval by the Chillicothe Board of Public Works. CMU General Manager Jim Gillilan says they have selected a contractor.
Gillilan says there was discussion about the cost of the project versus return on the investment.
If the City Council approves the bid, the abatement will start in a little over 45 days and will be completed in 120 days.
Gillilan says they are beginning the process of going out to bid on the demolition of the plant when the abatement is complete.
