Traffic Stop Results in Drug Investigation and Five Arrests

Chillicothe Police made five arrests on drug charges as a result of an investigation that began this week.  A vehicle stop Wednesday resulted in an arrest and the start of the drug investigation.  Chillicothe Police Chief Jon Maples says officers arrested 52 year old Jerald Jay Barrer for alleged delivery of a controlled substance, believed to be methamphetamine.

As a result of the ensuing investigation, Maples says, on Thursday a search warrant was served in the 300 block of Business 36.  They arrested:  36 year old Billy Ray Williams, 34 year old Lena Rae Williams, 37 year old Franklin Timothy Sanders and 36 year old Jeneva Carol Chenet, all of Chillicothe.  The arrests are on charges of alleged possession of a controlled substance – meth.

All five are held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.  Bond for Lena Rae and Billy Ray Williams, Barrer and Sanders is set at $50,000.  Bond for Chenet is $20,000.

Maples says they want to thank the members of the public that are reporting suspicious activity when they see it.  And he thanks the officers for their hard work and dedication to the community.
