Chillicothe High School Basketball’s “Twin Turbos” accelerated the Hornets to a 52-43 win over Smithville in the Savannah Tournament.
Westley Brandsgaard and CJ Pfaff, both Juniors, accounted for 43 points and 16 rebounds in the Consolation Semi-Final victory.
Hornets Coach Tim Cool said his team showed improvement in just their second game of the season.
Chillicothe had the hot hand in the second quarter with 18 points including some treys, to take the lead for good.
Westley Brandsgaard had 25 points and five rebounds while CJ PFaff had 18 points, eleven rebounds, four assist and four steals.
Peyton Forck had four points, Mason Baxter had three and Hayden Simmer with two points. Receiving valuable playing time were Bradley Riley, Eli Cross, Hunter Swift, William Perry and Hayden Simmer.
Chillicothe plays Benton at 2:30 on Saturday in the consolation game. Benton beat St Joseph LeBlond 54-41 in the other consolation game.
The Chillicothe Girls will play for the tournament title Saturday at 7:00pm against the William Chrisman Bears. KCHI Radio and KCHI.com will broadcast both games.
