Hornets Lose in Savannah Consolation Game

A poor second quarter cost the Chillicothe Boys Basketball team in the Savannah Tournament in a 50-45 loss to Benton.
Chillicothe led by two points after the first quarter and both Benton and Chillicothe each scored 11 points in the 3rd and 4th quarters. However Benton outscored Chillicothe 16-9 in the second quarter thanks in part to six made free throws in that quarter. For the game, Benton was 19/33 from the charity stripe while Chillicothe was 7/13 for the game.
Chillicothe was led by Westley Brandsgaard with 13 points, Bradley Riley had 10 points off the bench CJ Pfaff had 8 points, Mason Baxter with five points, Eli Cross, Hayden Simmer, Peyton Forck and Hunter Swift with two points each and playing time for William Perry.
Maryville beat Platte County for First place in the tournament. Chillicothe is off until Friday when they host Trenton in a doubleheader. It will be the annual Teddy Bear Toss night.
