Arson Investigation Results In Three Arrests For The October 29th Railroad Bridge Fire

The investigation of the October 29th fire on the Canadian Pacific railroad bridge that crosses the Grand River south of Chillicothe resulted in three arrest.  Adam Crouch with the State Fire Marshal’s office says 18 year old James Paul Eugene Haight, 19 year old Kyle Jacob Mace and 23 year old Destanie Dawn Batson (photos below) were recently arrested on charges of alleged Knowingly Burning and Property Damage in the 1st Degree.  All three are held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail on $25,000 cash bond.  Crouch says the arrest were the result of cooperation and assistance from the public.

Crouch says even though they have made these three arrests, the investigation continues.

Crouch says there were several agencies involved in the investigation, including the State Fire Marshal’s Office, Chillicothe Police Department, Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force St Joseph Police Department’s Forensic’s Investigation Division and the Canadian Pacific Railway Police.
