An eight vehicle accident on Interstate 35 in Clay County left one person injured Monday Morning. State Troopers report a Lawson resident, 47 year old Valerie Malott was taken to North Kansas City Hospital following the accident at about 6:35 am. According to the report, a vehicle driven by 44 year old Mitchell Flowers of Jamesport was southbound on Interstate 35 and came upon slowing traffic. He was not able to slow in time and attempted to avoid a collision with stopped vehicle, but struck the Mallot vehicle from behind, then went into the median and overturned. That resulted in a chain reaction collision for the other vehicles.
None of the other drivers were injured in the accident.
