The Chillicothe Police Department was busy over the weekend.

Incidents reported Saturday:
6:05 AM, Officers conducted a well-being check of a subject in the 1000 block of Polk Street.  Subject was transported to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment.

11:35 AM, Officers responded to an accident in the 1400 block of Clay Street where a vehicle struck a utility pole and caused major damage to the pole.  The driver then left the scene of the accident.  Officers located the vehicle and arrested the driver, Tristan Wessel, for alleged leaving the scene of an accident, no insurance, and failing to drive on the right half of the roadway.  Wessel was processed at the police department and transported to the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail.

3:20 PM, Officers received a report of 2 juveniles running away from home.  Officers located the 2 juveniles who confirmed they were running away from home.  After speaking with the youngsters and convincing them running away wasn’t a great option, they were taken to their residence and returned to their parents.

On Sunday:
11:25 AM, Officers took a report of theft in the 1000 block of Graves Street.  The item reported stolen was later located.

2:50 PM, Officers called to a two vehicle non-injury accident in the private parking lot in the 700 block of South Washington Street.

The department also reported several traffic stops for defective equipment.  Warnings were issued.
