Lady Hornets Basketball Survives LeBlond Test

The Chillicothe girls basketball team fought off sluggish shooting and foul trouble to open their conference season with a 43-34 win at LeBlond.
The Lady Hornets were whistled for 21 fouls in the game while LeBlond was caught for 16 fouls. In the first half, Chillicothe built an 11 point lead only to have LeBlond tie the game at the half. The Lady Golden Eagles had 11 of their 17 first half points earned at the free throw line.
Chillicothe Coach Darren Smith felt his team got frustrated in the first half of the game.

LeBlond fought back to tie the game early in the fourth quarter, but never led in the game. Chillicothe went 6 of 7 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter.
Chillicothe was led by Kennedie Kieffer with 12, Hunter Keithley with 10, Jordan Hibner with 9, Maggie Pfaff with 5, Essie Hicks with 4, Catey Trout with 2 and Maggie Thomas with one.
Receiving playing time for Chillicothe was Lucy Reeter, Brooke Horton, Ella Leamer and Kaylee Munson.

The Chillicothe Junior Varsity had an easier time with a 45-23 win with 14 of the 15 Lady Hornets scoring points. Brooke Horton led the team with 9 points. Clara Leamer and Kiley Kirkpatrick had five each. Kennedy Corzette, Ella Leamer, Ellie Barnet and Lucy Reeter all had four points.
Kaylee Munson, Maya Snyder, Selby Hiller, Montana Plattner and Montana Hall each had two while Haley Kidd and Josie Reeter each had a free throw.
