The Chillicothe Police and Fire Departments recently made presentations to the Chillicothe City Council on purchases made with grant funding or through purchasing programs that keep the cost down for the department.
Chillicothe City Administrator Darin Chappell says those are just a couple of examples of how the city department heads are keeping expenses under control and often under budget.
Chappell says those efforts in all departments will show on the bottom line.
The work to trim the expenses in the departments will be reflected in the 2019/20 budget, which the city staff is working on at this time.
