State Troopers investigated an accident in Daviess County Wednesday. Two people were injured and one was arrested following an accident on Interstate 35, north of Winston. The accident happened about 6:30 pm as 44 year old Danny Engle of Gallatin and 32 year old Edgar Jaime of McPherson Kansas were northbound and Jaime hit the back of the Engle vehicle, causing Engle to run off the road and left Engle and his passenger, 34 year old Katherine Engle with minor injuries. They were both taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center for Treatment.
Jaime left the scene of the accident and was later located and arrested. Troopers report Jaime was charged with alleged DWI resulting in injury, leaving the scene of an accident, careless and imprudent driving, no license and littering. He was taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail on a 24 hour hold.
