Game winning Shot #1 O’Kane Game Winning Basket #2 Jase White Celebrates
Linn County fought back from a 10 point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter to pick up the Class 1 State Sectional Basketball win over Slater at Chillicothe high school. Linn County’s 5’10” Junior Michael O’Kane sank a high post jump shot with 4.6 seconds left to give his team the 60-58 win.
The score was tied at 53 with two minutes left in the game as the two teams fought it out to the final whistle.
Jase White led Linn County of Purdin with 26 points, Chadley Waltz had 15, Cody Murrell and O’Kane each had eight and Kade Ward had three points.
Slater was led by Maximus Zdybel with 16 points, Aden Campbell with 13 and Hank Jacobson with 12.
Linn County will play Wellsville with a 13-13 record in the quarterfinal game on Saturday at 1:00pm at Salisbury High School.
