Good Numbers Out for CHS Spring Sports

Chillicothe High School’s Spring edition of “Meet the Hornets” showed outstanding numbers out for Sports. More than 160 freshmen through seniors are out for boys and girls track, baseball, boys tennis, boys golf and girls soccer.
Chillicothe High School Principal and Athletic Director Dan Nagel said it is challenging to stay organized with so many sports and athletes.
Nagel credits a hard working staff that keeps things organized and running smoothly.

Nagel says keeping many of the same opponents from one year to the next help makes things a little easier.

Nagel says the Hornets football schedule is set for 2019. MEC teams were left scrambling for opponents to replace St. Joseph LeBlond, which switched to 8-man football next season.
Nagel says the Hornets will travel west to take on Wyandotte High School, located just across the Missouri/Kansas line. He says the school is slightly larger than Chillicothe and has a Turf Field.
Nagel says it was one of the only schools available for Week 8 in Kansas or Missouri. He said Iowa and Nebraska schools were not available due to their playoff schedule.
