Pink-Out Funds Helping Cancer Support Organizations

Funds raised in the Pink-Out last fall were distributed to a variety of organizations.  Fifty-eight hundred dollars was raised through breast cancer awareness Pink-Out t-shirt sales and the boot blocks that were held during Chautauqua and before the Pink-Out Game for the Chillicothe Hornets.  The fundraisers were a joint effort of the Chillicothe Fire Department and Hedrick Medical Center Emergency Department.

The donations received were distributed to four organizations:

$1000 – Stitching for a Cause (Mrs. Shira’s 4th grade Leadership class). The funds will be used to purchase supplies to make port covers and blankets for cancer patients.

$1300 – Hope House in Kansas City. The funds will be used to aid local patients in lodging costs during cancer treatments in Kansas City.

$3000 – Hedrick Medical Center Foundation. The Funds will be used to support the Oncology Nurse Navigator program at Hedrick Medical Center.

$500 – Livingston County Cancer Assistance. The funds will be used to support local cancer patients by providing information and resources during their cancer journey.
