Maasdam Wins MEC Singles Crown

Chillicothe Hornets Tennis player Tyler Maasdam beat four opponents to win the Midland Empire Conference Singles Championship.
Maasdam opened with an 8-0 win over a LeBlond player. He then won the second round 8-4, beat Cameron’s top singles player 6-0, 6-0 and then beat Mason Walk from Maryville for the singles crown 7-6, winning the tiebreaker 7-0 and winning the second set 6-2.

Chillicothe #2 singles Brendon Nelson lost a marathon opening match 8-9, losing the tiebreaker 10-12. He then beat a Benton player 8-1 and a LeBlond player 9-7 before losing to a Cameron player 2-8.

In doubles play, Noah Crowe and Seth Bate lost to a Savannah team 2-8, beat  Cameron team 8-4 then losing to a LeBlond team 6-8.
Colten Johnson and Gavin Sampsel lost their opening contest 1-8, beat a St Pius team 8-3 then losing to a LeBlond team 8-9, losing the tiebreaker 4-7.
