Garret Cramer Named State Star Farmer

A Chillicothe FFA student was recognized at the State FFA Convention Friday as the Area 2 Star Farmer and as the State Star Farmer.  Garret Cramer of Ludlow, son of John and Janet Cramer, received the honors Friday.

Area Star Farmers are chosen based upon outstanding production agriculture in the student’s SAE program and active participation in FFA.  Area 2 includes 26 chapters in the Northwest District.

Cramer has served as chapter assistant first vice president and second vice president, and currently serves as president. He competed in agronomy and agricultural issues forum career development events.  He also attended Helping Youth Maximize their Agricultural eXperience Academy, Missouri Agribusiness Academy, Helping Youth Prepare for Excellence and Agrivision Equipment Group Precision Agriculture Summer Academy.

In addition to FFA, Cramer served as vice president of the National Honor Society and treasurer of the student council and junior class president. He is a member of Future Business Leaders of America.
