Highway 6 Bridge Replacements Begin Today

Replacement of the two bridges on Missouri Highway 6 near Humphreys and Milan begins this week.  The Missouri Department of Transportation says part one requires contractors from Boone Construction Company of Columbia to close the West Locust Creek Bridge, west of Route 5.  That work is expected to begin today, and the bridge would reopen in early July.

In Part 2, crews will close the West Yellow Creek Bridge east of Route 5 near Milan, May 13 with a planned reopening early August.

Each new bridge will have 32-feet wide lanes, eight feet wider than the current bridge lanes, and new four-foot shoulders.

During the construction, drivers will need to find alternate routes.

The Detour For West Locust Creek Bridge Replacement includes:

For eastbound traffic, From Highway 6, go north on Route W to Route PP, East on PP / Route E to Milan.
