Highway 6 Bridge Work Begins Monday

Replacing the West Locust Creek Bridge on Highway 6 in Sullivan County will start again on Monday. The bridge, west of Route 5 near Humphreys, will close for the contractors from Boone Construction Company to begin the work that is expected to last until July 25th, as weather permits.

When the work begins, motorists will need to find an alternate route.  A marked detour is provided.  That detour will direct motorists south from Humphreys, on Route 139, east on Route MM to Browning and north on Route 5.

Truck traffic will continue to be detoured from the east near Kirksville on US 63, south to US 36 west.  And from the west near Trenton, south on US 65 to US 36 east.

Because of the delay is starting this project, the bridge replacement at West Yellow Creek Bridge is also delayed.  A new start date will be announced.
