Kirksville beat Chillicothe Hornets Baseball team in a pitchers duel, 3 to 1. The district opening game ended Chillicothe’s baseball season. Kirksville scored in the bottom of the first. Chillicothe tied it up in the top of the third but gave up two runs in the bottom of the third for the final scoring.
Jaden Winder went the distance on the mound for Chillicothe, allowing three runs, two earned, off seven hits with nine strike outs and three walks.
At the plate Mason Baxter had a double and a single with Gage Kirkland, Matt Smith and Bradley Riley all had a single.
Savannah had a first round bye and will face Lafayette, a 10-0 win over Maryville. Kirksville will face #2 seed Benton, a 5-2 winner over Cameron.
