The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Soccer team will play for the Class 2 District 15 Soccer Championship this evening. The Lady Hornets beat Moberly on Tuesday 7-0 and will face Kirksville, a 9-1 winner over Cameron.
Chillicothe is 16-4 on the season with 15 shut outs while Kirksville is at 500 with a 10-10-2 record.
Chillicothe has beaten Kirksville three times this season, on March 18th 1-0 in Kirksville, again in the Moberly Tournament 1-0 and ten days ago in Chillicothe 4-0.
Chillicothe will be trying for their second ever district championship. The last time was in 2015. Last year the team finished 15-5 and second in districts, losing 3-0 to St Pius.
The winner will face Maryville, which won 5-4 in double overtime over Savannah.
St Pius of the MEC beat Lincoln Prep 5-0 for the district 14 title. They will play Pembroke Hill, a 5-0 winner over Center.
