The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Soccer season ended Saturday with a hard fought 2-0 loss at home to Maryville in a state Sectional contest.
The teams battled scoreless in the first half, but Maryville scored twice in the second half.
Chillicothe found it difficult to find available goal opportunities against the Maryville defenders. The Chillicothe defenders played strong, including numerous saves by Goalie Kennedie Kieffer.
Chillicothe ends the season with a school record number of wins and shut outs. They will graduate ten seniors.
Maryville will play in the quarterfinals on the 22nd against the winner of Monday’s St Pius vs Pembroke Hill contest.
