UPDATE – Flooding on the Grand River

Flood warnings continue into the weekend for portions of the Grand River.

At Chillicothe, the river rose above flood stage of 24 feet Sunday afternoon and was back below flood stage by 6:00 pm.  The river is expected to rise above flood stage around midday Tuesday, with a crest of 27.6 feet Tuesday night and falling back below flood stage on Wednesday.

At Sumner, the river rose above flood stage of 26 feet Sunday morning and crested at 32.6 feet Sunday night.  The river will fall to about 28 feet Tuesday morning and then rising again to a crest of 33.6 feet Wednesday.  Flooding is expected to continue until Friday morning.

At Brunswick, the river is above flood stage of 19 feet.  The reading this morning was 21.5 feet.  The river is expected to reach 22.8 feet Tuesday morning.  The level will drop slightly, then rising to about 24 feet Wednesday.  Flooding is expected to continue into Saturday.
