Grand River Flood Warnings

Flood warnings are issued for the Grand River from Pattonsburg to Brunswick.  That includes Major flooding for the Chillicothe area.

For the Grand River at Chillicothe, the river is above flood stage of 24 feet and continues rising to a crest of 37.8 feet Wednesday.  This could affect travel on both US 36 and 65.  Flooding is expected to continue until Saturday morning.

For other areas on the Grand River

At Pattonsburg, the river is rising sooner than forecast, and the National Weather Service predicts the river will rise above flood stage of 25 feet today, and rise to a crest of 33.4 feet Wednesday, resulting in Major flooding for the Pattonsburg area.  Flooding will continue through Thursday morning.

At Gallatin, Minor flooding is expected as the river is expected to rise above flood stage of 26 feet late today or early Wednesday.  A crest of 28.6 feet is expected and flooding should continue until Friday night.

At Sumner, Moderate flooding will continue into the weekend.  Flood stage at Sumner is 26 feet and at 5:00 am, the river was at 30 feet and rising.  A crest of 37.4 feet is expected Thursday morning.

At Brunswick, Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is expected as the river will rise to a crest of 32.6 feet, with flooding through the weekend.
