Chillicothe and Trenton are sending qualifying players to the State Tennis Tournament in Springfield starting today.
In the State Tennis Tournament, the singles and doubles tournament brackets have been released with play beginning May 24th.
Chillicothe’s representative, Tyler Maasdam, faces a player from Thomas Jefferson Independent school, who beat a fellow teammate for the district championship in straight sets. Maasdam is 19-9 on the season.
Trenton’s Gabriel Swann takes on a Warrensburg player. Swann beat Chillicothe’s Maasdam in the district finals. The Warrensburg player beat a Bolivar player in the district finals in straight sets
In doubles match-ups Trenton’s duo of Shields and Houghton take on a duo from St Louis Priory in the first round.
