Chillicothe Flooding Situation Ever Changing

After a brief dip in the river level at Chillicothe, the river is on the rise again.  At Chillicothe, the Grand River had reached 37.64 feet Wednesday night and dropped to about 37.2 feet this morning, but it is now on the rise once more.  The National Weather Service says the Grand River at Chillicothe is expected to reach 39.1 feet.  That will be just short of the 1993 record of 39.6 feet.

Flooding on the Grand River has closed US 65 south of Chillicothe and US 36 from Hamilton to Laclede.  MoDOT has not given a timeline for reopening any of the roads.
