Sheriff Dept Officers Receive Training

Some Livingston County Sheriff’s Department officers have undergone further out of town specialized training in recent weeks.
Sheriff Steve Cox said additional training is always beneficial to the officers and public safety.

He says a further benefit is once the officer is trained, he can share that training with other fellow officers in the department.
Recent training included Deputy Terry Wilson training in Camp Dodge Iowa on information on drug and money trafficking in vehicles, roadside investigations, hidden compartments, body language and interviewing skills.
Detective Ryan Ford attended a recent conference in Nashville for training for investigations using on line resources and how it can assist the department with a variety of criminal investigations.
Sheriff Cox says the newly learned skills already helped Ford solve the theft of a $20,000 ring that went to another state.
