A child was injured in a one vehicle accident north of Hamilton Sunday evening.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on private property off Route C, five miles north of Hamilton.
The report states 8 year old Alex Rich of Hamilton was sitting on the tailgate of a pick up. The owner of the vehicle was under the hood trying to start the pick up.
The vehicle was left in gear and started, causing it to roll, ejecting Rich and running over him with the right rear tire. The truck came to rest at the bottom of an embankment.
Rich was taken by Life Flight Eagle to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
